ABOUT US

ACDA provides practical support and guidance on access to the NDIS for disabled Australian Chinese and their families. Since the introduction of the NDIS, the support structures for many disabled Australian Chinese have remained state or community based and have not evolved to engage the NDIS framework that was introduced by the Australian Government. To tackle this low take-up of support services by disabled Australian Chinese and their families compared to the general community, ACDA provides as a national not-for-profit organisation assists all disabled Australian Chinese to access and engage with all supports and services available to them under the NDIS.

The ACDA aims to maintain comprehensive information services in both Chinese and English covering the NDIS and supports available, guidance on how and where to gain access to supports, and an aggregated listings of Australian Chinese state-based and community support services that are available. In addition we work to provide support to disabled Australian Chinese and their families especially in areas that will help reduce the stigma that exists with having a disabled family member which contributes to the under-utilisation of services.
